About me
I come from a creative background having trained as a Graphic Designer/Animator and achieved a high level of success working in the Computer Games industry. This has allowed me to develop proficient skills in both production and post-production which I have utilised in other areas of the media sector producing work for external clients. For the past ten years I have devoted much of my time to developing the needs of students in Further Education. I currently work as a Programme Manager responsible for a highly successful Creative Arts Department. I have been involved in creating exciting opportunities for 14-19 year olds in both the creative arts and media sectors. Alongside my teaching in Film, Radio, Media and Design, I have set up student Radio & TV stations, courses in Games Development and arranged training and educational events for both young and old.Referees:

Additional information:
I have excellent organisational and planning skills which support my overall professional attitude to my career. I have always trained and supported new employees in the workplace with a high level of success, which was my reason for recently working in the education sector. I achieved a strong portfolio of work within the media industry, including being part of a two time BAFTA nominated design team for film licensed video game titles. My experience as a manager within the leisure industry has developed good communication, team-working, budget management, and interpersonal skills. I pride myself in always exceeding the expectations of my employment, most recently, to enrich the education of students in my current employment I have project-managed and developed a student radio station and live TV production studio. Students have successfully produced highly professional, industry standard output which was awarded one of six national awards by the BBC.
I actively keep involved with advancements in software and technology. I am continually improving and developing my already proficient skills in Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Audition & Premiere; Final Cut Pro, 3D Studio Max, & a number of line-testing software packages. I am also able to translate the teaching of these packages from PC to Mac, and vice versa. I am currently developing my skills with Maya, Mudbox, and Illustrator.
My interest in working in the education sector developed from my work in creative media production and my desire to share strong pre-production techniques and scheduling appropriately. Interacting on a daily basis with younger generations also allows me to keep current with popular culture, trends and Social Media. Social media has provided a great platform to promote and share creative ideas and I actively work with other creatives to develop independent projects. I am fortunate that my enjoyment of music and role as promotions and entertainment manager in the leisure industry has allowed me to enjoy working with large audiences, both live and pre-recorded. As an avid listener to speech radio and podcasts I get great fulfilment in being part of that creative process.
I feel that I have a good knowledge of the Music, Art & Media sectors and have developed a good record of success in both industry and teaching. I enjoy new challenges and feel that I could be an asset to your business. I work very well as part of a team, ensure good communication, organisation, and coping well with the pressures of performance related targets. I am an exceptionally versatile person and have a good ability to transfer my knowledge into other areas. I constantly strive to learn more about advancements in my field and tend to adapt very quickly into new areas. Working with both commercial industry and education has allowed me to continue to do something I really enjoy.
