About me

I like to think my strongest skills lie within script wirting/story telling, character animating, acting, sculpting (puppet making) and directing both live and animated.

I have had experience in all of these skills from education and from work.
I am a graduate from Staffordshire University with a degree in Stop motion animation and puppet making. Here I learnt more than animating; I learnt how to bring life to an inanimate object by acting through the puppet and how to influence them using my own personality and quirks making them my own. Then there was learning cinematography and all the other workings of the moving film. Everything seemed to just make sense as I tried and tested my own abilities into creating my own film projects; the camera angels, lighting, editing, sets and then there is the story telling part, how to write a script, how to write for the screen, how to tell a story...All of it made perfect sense to me and I knew I had found my balanced creative harmony.

I started this journey focusing on myself becoming a performing artist. However now a number of doors are open to me and I have found my creative urges seem to be pushing me to walk through all the doors... or at least take a peak.
I am hungry for learning, creating and the overall experience of working within the film/entertainment industry. But mostly I am hungry to create.

Additional Information

I have always been fascinated with film, theatre, animation and puppetry since childhood. I was brought up on some of the greatest classical films, actors and animations. Who Framed Roger Rabbit is the film that had its biggest impact on me way back in the 80s. It consists of live actors acting along side animated characters. I was mind blown and being a child I wanted to live in such a world....;well not much has changed its just that now I can make that into a reality for myself. I also adore the silent actors. Acting wirh your eyes is something I am fascinated with. I am always astonished how so much emotion can be shown from sometimes the tiniest movement of let's say an eyebrow or mouth twitch. The wonderful and incredible Charlie Chaplin holds a special place in my heart... He was my teacher in comedic timing. A genius in his field. I also have to mention Wallace and Gromit specifically Gromit. He to me is the prime example of how to emit such powerful emotions through the smallest of movements. It's a work of art to me and nothing gives me more satisfaction and passion when I am able to succeed in creating the same technique through either myself or the characters I am animating/bringing to life.
