About me
I am an ambitious, energetic and focussed camera operator/cinematographer/filmmaker, with a bachelors degree in Film Production from the University of Central Lancashire. As a result I have experience in a wide variety of roles, combined with a detailed understanding and great respect for the collaborative nature of the filmmaking process. I currently live in Aberdeen, but I am looking to relocate for work in the film and media industry. My main focus would be to develop my skills as a cinematographer. If you would like to see examples of my work, please visit my youtube channel ("stuim41") where you will find my showreel, and if you would like a copy of my CV please email me on removed , which has in depth information on my experience (both as a student and as a freelance filmmaker), technological skills, team working skills and communication skills.

Highlights
-
I have a lot of experience working as a camera operator and cinematographer. This includes 3 short films as a camera operator (as well as cinematographer); "The Devil Cometh Parts 1 & 2" and "The Revolution", as well as a promotional film for a local charity (for which I also acted as the cinematographer and camera operator. I have also had experience as a junior camera operator on a corporate video shoot. I have had gaffer experience as well on 1 short film ("The Waiting Room") and 1 feature film ("Needle in the Hay").
Throughout these projects, I have been using DSLR cameras (mainly the Canon 550D/600D/60D) both on tripods, tracks and using a DSLR shoulder rig, as well as using a variety of lenses including a macro lens and a 50mm lens. For my experience on the corporate film shoot however, I operated a Sony EX3. In terms of experience with lights, I have had experience with Daedo's, Kino's, Arri's and some experience with Kobalt's, as well as reflector's gels and diffusers for each.
I also have experience acting as a producer, writer, director, editor, 1st assistant director, and sound recordist. I acted as one or more of these roles over the course of my BA (Hons) Film Production degree from the University of Central Lancashire in various projects (as well as some work I have done post university). I am also competent in using Final Cut Pro 7 and the "zoom" sound recorder.
My aim is to gain more experience as a camera operator. My main interest when it comes to filmmaking is the composition of shots, lighting of shots and the movement of the camera.
In terms of equipment, I currently own a Canon 600D (with 2 lenses), a tripod, a DSLR shoulder mount, the "Zoom" sound recorder, a Rode Blimp outdoor microphone, as well as my own copy of Final Cut Pro 7. All of this adds up to most of the essentials of what is required to make a film (i.e. camera, sound, editing).
I have a rock solid work ethic when it comes to filmmaking and completely understand the entire "working as part of a team" aspect to filmmaking. As a result, I will always pull my weight when it comes to any part of the production (as I have had to deal with what happens when 1 person doesn't do their job properly) and I will always be aware of if I am accidentally doing part of someone else's role.
I will always communicate any problems I have to make sure that everything runs smoothly, I have no problems in working in a team and collaborating with others and I will never complain about having to work long hours or in bad conditions.
I currently live in Manchester. If you would like to see examples of the work I have done, as well as my showreel, please visit my youtube page ("stuart imray"), and for a more in depth look at my experience (both as a student and as a freelance filmmaker) please email me at: stuartimray@yahoo.co.uk and will happily send you a copy of my CV.
