About me
Freelance Wardrobe assistant and Costume Designer with a flair for millinery and dressmaking.Additional information:
For the last three years, I have worked with various Theatre and Costume designers within South
Wales, as both a Milliner and Costume Assistant. As I have a small costume store of my own, and
specialise in MillineryI
frequently liase with designers ( paid and unpaid) to help them realise their
own design vision, and assist the process.
My training at the Royal Welsh college of Music and Drama, and as paid casual costume staff for
various productions, I understand the needs of the wardrobe departmentmaintaining
costumes,
cleaning costumes, measuring costumes, resourcing high numbers of Historical and Contemporary
garments. I also have specific strong skills in Millinery, styling, corsetry, flat pattern cutting and cutting
on the stand, and experience of working in and running a professional alterations department.
I have experience in relating budgets, needs and requirements to a stage management department to
ensure smooth running of the production process.
After running a small business for three years, I have strong communication skills with clients, talent,
members of the general public, suppliers and my employees (2). I also assisted in keeping adequate
stock levels and making sure spending was kept within a budget.
I have been a Resident in Cardiff for over 7 years, and before that RhonddaCynonTaff,
and have a
good knowledge of Both the city and South Wales region. I have been driving for seven years, and
enjoy driving for work and Leisure.
