About me

I have recently graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with my BFA in Theatre Design and Technology. In my time at Wesleyan I have held professional jobs with the Williamstown Theatre Festival and Light Opera Works Chicago, designed 5 productions (one period musical, one Shakespeare, and three modern plays), worked for the costume shop for three years, and wardrobe supervised four large scale productions. Outside of designing, my interests and skills coincide best within assisting designers, shopping, costume crafts, and anything organizational (budgeting, rental, etc.). Though I have worked in theatre through my time in school, I have a great interest in film and TV. I am immensely organized technician and designer, with a strong focus on color and detail. I have been told this is very helpful when working in film. I am an extremely resourceful person and will pretty much find a way to efficiently complete any task given.
The last few years has taught me that there is no greater skill than the drive to achieve. It is that skill that makes the collaborative process of theatre, such a successful journey. As designers and technicians we are capable of creating art that can convey themes presented through storytelling. Through numerous visual mediums we have the power to evoke emotion within the human complex. I have always been drawn to the human aspect of costume design. Before I was a designer, I began my journey in theatre as an actor. I find it extremely beneficial to be able to see a script through the eyes of each character and use the artistic elements of fashion to tell their story. This is something that makes my job so special to me and I plan to continue to create theatrical art throughout my life. I look forward to waking up every day and seeing what new experiences the world of theatre has to offer.
